West Kingston Woman Charged with DUI

Officers working a DUI detail reportedly saw the woman swerving on Route 4 before she was stopped.

North Kingstown Police charged a 58-year-old West Kingston woman with driving under the influence May 25 after she allegedly was seen swerving while driving on Route 4 close to midnight.

Police said officers were working a Blue Rip Tide DUI detail when they saw the car being driven by Ann Marie Vuocolo, of 15 Frank Ave., West Kingston, drift from the right lane into the left lane and then back. It then drifted over the fog line and into the breakdown lane.

Once stopped, police said Vuocolo appeared drunk and officers could smell alcohol on her breath.

She later failed a field sobriety test, according to a police report, and refused a chemical test while at police headquarters.
