(UPDATED) VIDEO: Cow Loose on Jamestown Bridge [poll]

Commuter shoots video of cow running loose on the bridge Tuesday morning.

Commuters on the Jamestown Bridge Tuesday morning were treated to a far more peculiar site than usual as a cow ran loose on the bridge, backing up traffic in both directions.

Portsmouth resident Don Mosher shot this video of the cow running loose on the Jamestown Bridge Tuesday morning during peak commute time. Police officers were trying to corral the cow, which had apparently fallen off a truck traveling over the bridge around 7:30 a.m.

Two North Kingstown officers joined members of the Rhode Island State Police and the Department of Environmental Management in the venture to secure the cow.

At this time the cow is off the bridge in the woods near Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown.

"apparently fallen off a truck" The trucker and/or owner should be fined. There's no excuses for this accident.

Folks as a reminder: 1) Swearing in comments is against Patch's terms of service. I've deleted that comment as a result. 2) Per our follow-up story, the bull was put down at the owner's request, and was headed to the slaughterhouse to begin with: http://patch.com/A-mXy2
