The in-laws of slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev testified Thursday before a federal grand jury investigating the deadly April 15 attack, according to the Associated Press.
Judith and Warren Russell of North Kingstown, parents of Katherine Russell, testified before a grand jury investigating the deadly April 15 Boston Marathon bombings last week.
Katherine Russell is the widow of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who with his brother Dzhokhar is alleged to have set the two bombs that killed three people and injured 260 others at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed during a shootout with law enforcement April 18. Dzhokhar was captured a day later and remains in custody.
Russell attorney Josh Dratel said he has been told by prosecutors that Katherine Russell is not a target of the investigation. She is living with her young daughter at her family's North Kingstown home and working for a family friend, according to earlier reports. She was a 2007 graduate of North Kingstown High School.
