ProJo: TV Cameras Banned in Fry Trial

No TV cameras or audio equipment will be allowed in the courtroom for the upcoming trial of Kimberly Fry.

According to the Providence Journal, there will be no television cameras or audio equipment allowed in the courtroom for next month's trial of Kimberly Fry of North Kingstown, who is accused of murdering her eight-year-old daughter in 2009

Superior Court Judge William E. Carnes Jr. decided to bar the equipment, citing the proximity in time to the Casey Anthony trial. According to the ProJo Carnes said it is the potential for "the irresistible urge to draw comparision with the Casey Anthony case that has me concerned."

On Aug. 10, public defender Sarah Wright requested the ban, citing that having cameras in the courtroom would be a distraction to jurors and be "unduly prejudicial" to Fry.
