Police: Man Reports Pot Appears in Brother's Mailbox

A weedy, but undesired delivery in an area mailbox.

A 49-year-old North Kingstown man reported to police that he found drugs in his brother's mailbox recently.

Police said on Feb. 24, they responded to a Post Road home where they met with the man who called police. He said he stopped by his brother's house to walk the dog and collect the mail.

When he opened the mailbox, he saw an amber medicine bottle with some pot in it.

The label had been scratched off and police said the bottle contained a small amount of marijuana.

The caller told police he called the post office and they told him that the bottle was there when mail was delivered around 2 p.m.

The bottle and marijuana were logged and put into evidence.
