Police Log: Unsteady On Their Feet

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Wednesday, May 29

5:33 p.m. – Police arrested Kelsey Rose Hoehn, 24, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped while driving on West Allenton Road because she didn’t have a license plate on the front of her car. Routine checks turned up the license violation. She was issued a district court summons and released. Her car was left in the parking lot of the business where she works.

1:23 a.m. – Police came upon a man walking south on Tower Hill Road near Ten Rod Road who appeared unsteady on his feet. Police stopped to talk to the man, who slurred his words and had bloodshot eyes. He told police he’d had some shots and was drunk. He said he was on his way to a friend’s house on Collation Circle. Police patted him down and found two small knives, which they gave to the friend for safekeeping when the dropped the man off there.

1:58 a.m. – Police noticed a man walking on Post Road near All American Bar and Grille who was staggering in and out of the roadway. They stopped the man, who said he’d been drinking at All American for much of the night and that he was heading to the Wickford Motor Inn to get a room for the night. The motel was full, however, so police took him to his employer, who said he could stay with her.

6:39 p.m. – A North Kingstown woman told police that at around 6:15 p.m. an unknown man had approached her daughter and a friend while they were walking in the Pettee Avenue and Narragansett Avenue area and told them to “come here girls … let’s go.” The girls walked away but gave police a description of the vehicle. The police report described the car as a small, newer-model, dark green SUV with a roof rack, in good condition. The suspect was described in the report as a possibly Hispanic man around age 50, with dark hair, about 5'10'' and thin.

10:14 p.m. – Police arrested Jack Scott Weedon, 57, of Steven Avenue, for vandalism and disorderly conduct after police were called to Steven Avenue because of a fight that seemed to be getting more intense. Upon arrival, police spoke to Weedon and his longtime girlfriend, who said Weedon had grabbed her cell phone and smashed it on the ground. She said he did not hurt her physically.

Friday, May 31

12:53 a.m. – Police arrested Corey M. Holland, 37, of Phillips Street, for driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a chemical test after someone told police about an erratic driver. Police stopped him on Tower Hill Road at Ten Rod Road. He told police he’d been drinking beers because of the recent death of his best friend. Holland failed the field sobriety test but refused to that the chemical test, so he was cited and released.

2:46 a.m. – Police arrested Kenneth Elijah Gordon, 21, of Devils Foot Road, for obtaining money under false pretenses and larceny, following a near-month-long investigation into credit card theft at Planet Fitness. Gordon admitted taking the credit card out of a wallet in the lost & found. He was issued a court summons and released.

10:37 p.m. – Police arrested Paul Roger Noka, 25, of Ten Rod Road on a district court bench warrant after police came to his residence because of a noise complaint. Routine checks on Noka turned up the warrant. He was taken into custody, processed and released
