The equipment was not retuned the next day and subsequent attempts to make charges on the credit card were declined.

Reached by phone, the delinquent renter reportedly said she needed one more day and would return it but as of July 10 it had not been returned.

Police said the equipment was valued at more than $20,000.

Police are investigating.

DINE AND DASH
A man, woman and two boys under four had dinner at Junction Trattoria on Ten Rod Road and left without paying on July 10, according to police, but a quickly-returned voicemail left by an officer led to a quick payment over the phone.

Police said they were dispatched to the restaurant at round 10:28 p.m. after the general manager reported the incident.

The bill totaled $54.40 and the family used the bathroom and left without paying.

A phone number used to make the reservation was called by police, who were called back a few moments later by the woman, who said it was an honest mistake and thought her husband had paid with the credit card, promising to make good on the bill.

Police checked back a while later and confirmed the bill was paid. But the manager noted the woman “voiced her opinion that the service sucked.”

But he told police he was glad the bill was paid.

DOMESTIC
Police charged Emily Rose Ryan, 27, of Doylestown, PA, with domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct July 12 after she allegedly threw a phone and slapped a man while riding as a passenger in his car.

Police said an officer driving south on Tower Hill Road at around 1:15 a.m. saw a car parked at Pendar Road blocking the driveway and a man standing outside of the car with blood on his face.

Police said they determined that Ryan was the lone aggressor in the situation, which stemmed from a romantic quarrel, and took her into custody without incident.

ITEMS STOLEN FROM CAR
Police said a cooler and a Snap-On power steering pulley puller were stolen from the front seat of his vehicle while it was parked on Post Road unlocked with the windows open.

Police said the cooler, valued at $25 was a “Howe’s” brand cooler with camouflage and gold lettering.

Inside the cooler was the tool, valued at $250.

Police are investigating.

SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE
A package containing a pair of biopsy dishes was sent to a local family with a return address listing a pharmaceutical company that has been closed for at least a year and its property was sold in December of 2013.

Police said two Dawn Marie Court residents brought the package to police at around 8:16 p.m. on July 12.

The small business style envelope had the company’s information printed in the corner and the family’s address was handwritten in the center.

The residents said they had never heard of the company, Jace Pharmaceutical, which reportedly had ceased operations and sold off a number of its properties around the country.

Police contacted the Fire Department, who secured the envelope and it was inspected by officials from the state Department of Environmental Management and a hazmat team from the Warwick Fire Department.

It was deemed un-hazardous and transported to the state Department of Health for further study.

Police are investigating.

DOMESTIC
Police charged Katina R. Ford, 23, of 50 Ring St., Providence, with domestic simple assault, domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct July 13 at 3:01 p.m.

Police said Ford pushed, scratched and grabbed the neck of a man who was helping her move.

During the altercation, police said, she used a pitchfork to smash the headlight of the man’s vehicle.

VANDALISM
Police said someone used crayons to draw genitalia and the word “vagina” on the side of  Forest Park Elementary School recently.

An officer conducting a building check on July 15 was approached by a custodian who pointed out the drawings, telling the officer that they were first seen on July 14.

DOMESTIC

UNDERAGE DRINKING
A romantic fire on the beach Tuesday night near Plum Beach Club on was put out by police who found a 19-year-old female drinking and a 21-year-old man who allegedly bought the alcohol for her.

Police said they were dispatched to the beach at around 11 p.m. for a report of a fire on the beach and as they approached they saw the woman, identified as Samantha Genereux, 19, of 57 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, holding a 750m bottle of Dr. McGillicuddy’s.

She told police she was 19 and it was bought by Gordon Latham, 21, of 70 Crestwood Drive, Narragansett, who was sitting next to her.

Police also found a small amount of marijuana in Genereux’s bag, according to a police report.

Genereux was cited for underage possession of alcohol and marijuana possession and released.

Latham was charged with violating the state’s social host law for procuring alcohol for a minor and was later released on personal recognizance with a July 29 court date in Third Division District Court.
