He said they had broken up recently but that she was still living at his house because she refused to leave. He said the car disappeared sometime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday. The car had been unlocked but the keys were inside the house. He had gotten a text message from him at 7:30 Tuesday morning that she driving on Ten Rod Road, which is what led him to believe she had taken the car. He said he was also missing approximately 82 Oxycodone pills. After NK police out an alert about the missing car, Coventry police found it and arrested the woman, Elizabeth Decelles, charging her with taking a car without the owner's consent, a felony. 1:29 p.m. – A Shermantown Road woman reported receiving two to three crank calls a week, usually from a woman but occasionally someone else. The callers talk about credit cards or debt. The caller-id number that appears is a 401 area code but when she and the police tried the number, they received an automated message that it was not in service. Police told her to contact her phone service provider to ask that a trap be put the the phone.

6:55 p.m. – A Surrey Lane resident told police the rear lift gate of his wife's car was damaged on July 8 while parked at Home Depot on Ten Rod Road. Looking at the car, police surmised some type of object hit the edge of the lift gate, bending it. There were no other signs of damage from another car. Home Depot does not have video surveillance of the parking lot. Replacing the lift gate was estimated to cost around $1,500.

7:42 p.m. – A North Kingstown woman told police her sister found a shoe with remains of a human foot in it while walking her dog at Rome Point. When police talked to the sister, of Narragansett, she said it was only a dream. She admitted neglecting to tell her sister it had been a dream.

9:47 p.m. – A Warwick resident told police one of his tire rims was damaged by a pothole while he driving on Pojac Point Road. The spare tire had to be put on. Pojac Point Road is private. Police left a traffic cone near the hole to keep cars away.

Friday, July 12

12:08 p.m. – A North Kingstown woman told police she had been assaulted by her husband, from whom she is getting a divorce. According to the woman, while in the master bedroom at 10 a.m. Friday, her husband held her up against a wall with both hands against her throat and threatened to kill her, using an obscenity. She said she ran into a bathroom and locked the door. By the time she left the bathroom, her husband was leaving the house. She said she was afraid for her life. The husband came to the station voluntarily and said he had not been in the bedroom with his wife and had not threatened her. He said his wife had been served with divorce papers today and he said there had been yelling in kitchen, but nothing physical. Based on an interview with one of the couple's children (with the father's permission) and a conversation with the woman's sister, police decided there was not enough evidence to make an arrest.

1:51 p.m. – A Cumberland man told police his inflatable raft had gone missing from the beach near Gardner's Wharf where he'd left it tied to a large rock on July 10. When he returned to the beach today, the raft was gone. The harbormaster was notified. In addition, the man was informed that the beach he'd used was private property and he should not use it again.

8:35 p.m. – A State Street resident complained to police about residents of a nearby apartment building who stand on the Newcomb Road sidewalk smoking. She said they obstruct the sidewalk and the smoke bothers her. She said the residents are no longer allowed to smoke in their complex so they congregate on Newcomb Road. During a visit to the area, police spoke with some residents who were smoking there, explaining that the sidewalk needed to remain clear for passersby.

11:49 p.m. – Police arrested Venessa Lynn Williams, 26, of Merrill Lane, for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two charges of assault after police were initially called to the address on a noise complaint. When police arrived, the caller said the music had just been turned off. No one answered at the apartment where the noise had been coming from and lights were off so police left. Soon, the caller alerted police that the music was back on louder than before. Police returned and could now hear the music. The occupant – Williams – did not answer the door for several minutes. When she finally opened the door, she was naked and only cursed when told to turn down the music. It was apparent, according to the report, that Williams was drunk or high. Threatened with arrest, Williams kept up the string of obscenities and spit at one of the officers. When one of the officers entered the apartment, Williams hit him with a closed fist. As two officers attempted to put handcuffs on Williams, she kicked and swung her arms. When handcuffs were finally secured, police searched for some clothes Williams. They came upon a locked door. After police issued several commands to open the door, the door opened and a man emerged, also naked. He found some clothes for Williams and got her dressed. She appeared to be unconscious by this time, so NKFD rescue was called. Police carried her downstairs to await rescue. While waiting, Williams became belligerent again, according to the report, yelling and kicking. One officer rode with the rescue truck to the hospital, where she continued to be combative. Doctors ordered restraints and sedation.
