Police Log: Domestic Assault, Shoplifting From Walmart

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

NK Woman Charged With Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest

Kirsten Shoener, 22, of 53 Spencer Drive in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 26 at 6:15 a.m. on charges of domestic disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of domestic assault.

Shoener allegedly assaulted two family members following an argument. During the scuffle, she also allegedly punched a wall. When police arrived and tried to place her under arrest, she reportedly became upset and combative and tried to get away from officers. According to reports, Shoener appeared to be under the influence.

Jillian Rebecca Burchard, 21, of 561 Lafayette Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 29 at 4:56 p.m. on charges of shoplifting from Walmart. Burchard allegedly tried to steal two bottles of nail polish from the store.

Michael Joseph Malstrom, 52, of 1503 South County Trail in East Greenwich was arrested Jan. 26 at 4:08 p.m. on charges of larceny and willful trespass.

Jeffrey M. Hathaway, 24, of 310 Narrow Ln. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 26 at 8:55 p.m. following a warrant for his arrest for making harassing phone calls. He was turned over to the Coventry Police Department.

Orlando J. Babalato, 23, of 602 Natick Ave. in Cranston was arrested Jan. 26 at 11:35 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
