Police Log: Brother Battles

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Teen Charged With DUI

Nicholas M. Floyd, 18, of 41 Hillside Ave. in Winthrop, MA was arrested Feb. 1 at 2:09 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.

Police pulled Floyd over after allegedly seeing him swerve in and out of lanes on Route 4. According to reports, Floyd told the officer that he was 18 years old and had had a few beers before driving.

After failing his field sobriety test, Floyd took a preliminary breath test and registered a .121. He was placed under arrest and taken to the North Kingstown Police Department, where he was given a Breathalyzer test and blew a .120 and .118 in breath tests.

Brother Battles

Steven Anthony Oliveira, 37, of 51 Harrison Street in North Kingstown was arrested Feb. 3 at 11:27 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Oliveira allegedly punched his brother in the face after the two returned to the brother’s house from the End Zone – a bar in East Greenwich. The brother told police the argument began after he told Oliveira he couldn’t stay with him while Oliveira contended it started because of jumper cables. Oliveira also told police that his brother punched him in the face. Officers did note that Oliveira had a swollen cheek and that his brother’s nose was bleeding profusely.

 

Other Arrests...

Manuel Torres III, 29, of 582 Devils Foot Rd., Apt. C207 in North Kingstown was charged on Feb. 1 at 11:15 a.m. for driving with a suspended license.

Jamie Michelle Rees, 34, of 60 Steamboat Ave. in North Kingstown was arrested on Feb. 2 at 3:53 p.m. following two bench warrants for her arrest.
