Police Log: Bowling Alley Slap & A Blocked Driveway

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, July 25

11:50 a.m. – A North Kingstown resident told police his car was struck with debris twice while driving west on Ten Rod Road. 

3:57 p.m. – Police arrested Alexander Raleigh Jenkins, 22, of Spring Green Road in Warwick, for shoplifting after he was stopped in the woods outside of Walmart. Jenkins was confronted after trying to steal a computer, then took off into the woods without any merchandise. He was taken into custody, processed and arraigned by a justice of the piece. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance.

4:05 p.m. – A Phillips Street resident told police there was an unknown vehicle was blocking his driveway. Before that, a Connecticut man came to the station to tell police his ex-wife's husband was refusing to turn over his three children for a court-ordered visitation. The Phillips Street man was that husband. The Connecticut man said he had parked his car at the bottom of the Phillips Street driveway to wait for his children. The Phillips Street man said he would comply with the court ordered visit but did not want to have contact with the Connecticut man.

8:24 p.m. – Police arrested Nicole McKiernan, 22, of Yorktown Road, for domestic vandalism and disorderly conduct after she tried to kick down the door of at a relative's apartment. Based on that, police took her into custody.

Friday, July 26

9 a.m. – Police observed Honey Dew Donuts on Post Road, South County Repair on Slocum Road, Marc Studios on Boston Neck Road, and New Image Hair Salon on Post Road all of them conducting business despite not having renewed their sales tax permit in violation of state code. 

7:15 p.m. – An Indian Corner Road resident told police she had been harassed by her husband, from whom she is getting a divorce. She said he'd gotten into her car during an exchange of their daughter and had initially refused to leave. He told police he'd gotten into the car because it was raining and he wanted to ask her to curb her credit card spending. Both parties said nothing physical had happened and neither even referred to what happened as an argument, but the woman requested the incident be documented.

8:08 p.m. – Police arrested Daniel Ortiz Hall, 18, of Post Road, on a bench warrant after he was involved in a disturbance that raised police attention on Hornet Road. Routine checks of all the people involved turned up Hall's  bench warrant. He was taken into custody, processed and released after he was arraigned by a justice of the peace.

Saturday, July 27

1:13 a.m. – Police arrested Bobbie Jo Lee Greenwood, 32, of Main Street in West Warwick, for domestic assault and disorderly conduct after a man told police she assaulted him at Kingstown Bowl. The man, with whom Greenwood was living, said Greenwood became upset because she thought he was flirting with one of her friends. According to the man and a witness, Greenwood slapped the man. Police found Greenwood at a Post Road address and she admitted slapping the man. She was taken into custody, processed and released.

2:41 a.m. – An employee of Blue Sun Towing on Frenchtown Road told police the owner of a car that had just been towed at the request of EG police was refusing to leave the lot, even after being told to return later in the morning. The car owner told the tow operator he had a weapon. Police met the car owner at the lot. He told them he'd run out of gas and had gone to get a gas can. When he returned, EG police were there and the car was hooked up to a tow. The Blue Sun employee told police he didn't want to press charges, just for the man to leave and return during daytime hours. Police took the owner to the Dunkin Donuts on Division Road to arrange a ride.
