Police Arrest 3 Providence Teens Suspected in Stealing From Cars in NK, MA

Three teenagers are facing charges of larceny in North Kingstown.

North Kingstown police may have caught the culprits of at least three thefts from vehicles. Last week, the North Kingstown Police Department arrested three Providence teenagers who allegedly stole gift cards, electronics and jewelry from parked cars.

Nico Puleo, 18, and Natasha Young, 18, along with a 17-year-old youth were arrested by police around 3 a.m. Jan. 25 as they attempted to flee a North Kingstown neighborhood where they had allegedly stolen items from three cars – one car on Collation Circle and two more off Old Baptist Road.

According to Detective Lt. Christopher Emerson, police received a call from a Collation Circle resident who chased off a man entering a car. Responding to the scene, an officer saw a car exit the neighborhood "at a high rate of speed." In the backseat of the car, the officer noted a person (later identified as the 17-year-old youth) matching the description of the suspect who also appeared to be breathing heavily.

Officers found a large amount of loose change, assorted gift cards, electronics and jewelry in the car: some of the items had been reported stolen from vehicles in not only North Kingstown but two others in Attleboro and Seekonk. At this time, police are unsure of the total value of the goods stolen.

The nature of the thefts are similar to a . Police are continuing to investigate those incident.

"The activity of the north end breaks, it's very consistent," said Emerson. "We can't say for sure if it's them. We believe that as soon as they get the items, they sell them."

Puleo (the driver of the car) is being charged with four counts of receiving stolen goods, three counts of larceny, one count of tampering with vehicles and one count of conspiracy. Young is being charged with three counts of larceny, tampering with a vehicle and conspiracy. The 17-year-old is being charged with the same offenses as Young.
