Man arrested for killing goose

An 18-year-old Attleboro man was arrested for animal cruelty and other charges after he apparently killed a goose in front of witnesses. The man was with two 15-year-olds who were not charged. Witnesses said the 18-year-old chased the goose and threw something at it, before it fell to the ground and began twitching and flopping. The witnesses said the teens and the attacker stood around laughing as the animal died.

A 22-year-old East Greenwich man left a Narragansett wedding a bit early after police were called to investigate a fight between two brothers. The brothers said they were play-fighting, but it got out of control. While officers were questioning one of the brothers, he apparently wouldn’t calm down or listen to an officer. He was arrested for disorderly conduct in front of his mother and the other wedding guests.

A Cranston man called East Greenwich Police to report that his employer, an East Greenwich landscaper, had repeatedly threatened him and accused him of stealing $10,000. But he chose not to pursue criminal charges because he needs the job.

Victim loses his bike, and gets a beating

A 23-year-old Woonsocket had a bad day that started when he saw a 17-year-old steal his bike from an apartment hallway. The older man ran out to try to stop the theft and noticed the alleged thief’s friends sitting on a porch. When he yelled at the two that he would fight to get his bike back, the two leaped up and chased after him. When they caught him, they allegedly kicked and punched him and stole his cell phone. They also broke one of his front teeth in half.

Race fan doesn’t make it to the checkered flag

A Warren man was arrested after he allegedly made a drunken scene at the Seekonk Speedway and then kicked an officer in the groin area while the officer was attempting to place him in a police cruiser. The 52-year-old was reportedly extremely drunk, offered a marijuana cigarette to a boy, refused to move to a different seat, resisted arrest, struggled with officers, refused to get in a police cruiser and finally got in a few kicks as he was forcibly directed into the back seat of the police car.

Public Service Announcement: Don’t Buy Blunts For Strangers

Narragansett police officers were called to take a statement from a 27-year-old man who said a friend of a friend asked him to buy “blunts and cigarettes” for him. The 27-year-old told police he was reluctant to do so, but that he agreed to, and took some money from the man. However, the 27-year-old said he had a change of heart and later gave the money back to the man. Later that night, the man and his friend came to the apartment and yelled at the 27-year-old. He allegedly had a knife in a leather sheath on his belt, but never removed it. The police advised the man to think before offering to purchase blunts for strangers.

Jogger hit by car keeps on running

A 19-year-old Barrington woman called Narragansett police to report herself for hitting a jogger with her car. She said she was only driving 5 miles per hour, and though the man paused to yell and curse at her, he kept on running. Officers couldn’t find the jogger, and no charges were filed.
