OMG PD: Pizza Customer Offers Sexual Favor

We compile the odd, unusual and 'oh my gosh' police items from throughout the region.

Pizza delivery man sexually harassed
A 22-year-old delivery driver for a Narragansett pizza restaurant called police after a customer offered him a lot more than a tip. The delivery guy told police that when he delivered a pizza, the male customer paid the bill, plus a tip, and then offered to perform oral sex on the delivery guy — and even more, he offered to pay the delivery guy $100 for the privilege. The delivery guy declined and instead called the cops.

Angry assailant turns to arson
A fight between three Newport men escalated when one of the men tried to torch another’s business. The three were apparently fighting – 2 vs. 1 – at around 2 am inside a Broadway storefront attached to residential apartments. Police responded and nabbed one man for felony assault, but the other assailant had already left. However, he returned two hours later with a gas can, smashed the storefront window and lit a fire inside the business. When officers found surveillance footage from across the street that caught the arsonist in the act, they tracked him down and arrested him. He told police he did not want to damage the apartments, just the store. That didn’t seem to help his cause.

That won’t help the customer service scores
A 32-year-old man was so upset about galvanized nails, he got into a fistfight with a hardware store employee and ended up getting arrested for assault. The assailant first purchased a box of nails, then discovered they were not galvanized. When he returned them, the store employee couldn’t find the right kind. That sparked the fight, during which both men exchanged punches.

No license, two kids and one drunk driver
A vehicle driven by a 40-year-old Warren man who hasn’t had a driver’s license since 1989 was stopped by a Barrington police officer at 2:30 in the morning for driving erratically. Two children were in the back seat. After refusing a Breathalyzer test, the driver was charged with drunk driving. He also had a warrant out for his arrest, and the car’s registration sticker was expired. The children were his girlfriend’s, and she was reportedly hospitalized.

Strawberry milk vendetta
On Sunday afternoon, a Target employee reported that a motorcycle driver followed her to work after she cut him off on I-195. After she parked at work, he yelled at her in the parking lot and rode away. A short time later, a driver in a burgundy sedan drove up and poured strawberry milk on her windshield.

Haven’t you always wanted to do this?
Someone took a South Kingstown work van for a joy ride through a nearby cornfield. The van was found the next morning in the same place it had been the night before, but it was covered in corn stalks and husks. It wasn’t difficult to see where the van had been – a clear path ran through the conrnfield.

I just assumed she would be drinking
A 49-year-old North Kingstown man was arrested not once, but twice, on the same day. His first arrest stemmed from a domestic argument with a woman, after which she was granted an immediate no-contact order. Though the man was reportedly “less than cooperative” with officers during his booking, he apparently tried to make amends by helping them out. He called the station to report a drunk driver, and he gave a description of the woman’s vehicle. It turned out to be a false report. When asked about the call, he admitted that he did not see her car and said, "I don’t know … I just thought she would be driving through around that time and thought she was probably drinking.” He was placed under arrest again.

One restaurant, two customers, three assaults
A man and woman were arrested after scuffling with three people inside an East Greenwich restaurant. The 40-year-old woman started the fights by first choking another woman inside the restaurant. When a restaurant employee intervened, she grabbed her and tore her dress. As they were leaving, her 44-year-old partner hit another employee in the nose. Police found the pair outside the restaurant. The woman tried running, but officers caught her. Both were charged with assault.

When women attack
Three Woonsocket women were arrested for simple assault after they jumped a 20-year-old woman, threw her to the ground and began kicking her in the head. They apparently attacked her because they believed the victim had been sleeping with the wrong guy – the father of one attacker’s child.
