Not a happy camper

A group of teenagers gave their friend a rude awakening this week when they decide to in which he was sleeping at a Barrington beach. A 17-year-old Barrington boy was charged with disorderly conduct in the incident. Police said the father of the boy sleeping in the tent chased the four teens on a bicycle and managed to capture the teen who was charged. The teen stopped running because of asthma, police said. The other teens may also face charges because the father said he knows where they live, police said.

No neighborly love here

A Warren resident was reportedly arrested this week on charges of felony assault after a over unraked leaves escalated to threats of physical violence. The 64-year-old man arrested allegedly chased his neighbor with a shovel threatening to "bash his head in" for not keeping his lawn neat.

Back-to-back DUI

A Portsmouth man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence Sunday after he that were stopped to deal with an unrelated DUI incident. Police were already on the scene arresting a woman for DUI when they heard a crashing sound and realized the male driver had ran into their cruisers. He was also determined to have been driving under the influence and was charged. Both cruisers sustained a good amount of damage, according to police.

North Kingstown police received a complaint last Saturday morning of a man, about 45 to 50 years old, When police arrived, they did not see the car or the person in question.

That's not very holy

A 20-year-old Westport woman and a 21-year-old Barrington man were arrested recently on drug charges after police found them in Barrington. Police say they saw quick movements under the seat of the truck and that when they approached, the woman was sweating profusely. When searching the vehicle and the pair, officers found a couple of syringes, needles, spoons and marijuana. According to the report, they admitted that they had used heroin.

Can you trust a thief?

A weird situation unfolded in East Providence this week. A 34-year-old Providence woman was arrested on larceny charges after getting caught up in a situation where two other individuals were allegedly . According to the report, a 42-year-old East Providence man told police he wanted to test the woman's trustworthiness and thus asked a mutual acquaintance to let the woman into his apartment to see if she would steal anything. The woman did indeed steal some Valium from the apartment, leading the man to report the theft to police. All three parties told the same story about testing the woman's trust, although the full details remain unknown. The case is currently under investigation.

'You guys are good'

A 20-year-old Cranston man faces charges of attempted breaking and entering and obstruction of justice after a attempt at Player's Clothing store this week. The man allegedly smashed the glass to the front door, but ran away when the burglar alarm went off. Police stopped him from running and asked why he was out at 4:30 a.m., but the man reportedly could not provide a valid reason and instead provided a false name. After police did a check of computer records and approached the man with his real name, he allegedly responded with "you guys are good." Police observed shards of glass on the man's sneakers embedded in the soles. They also found indentations in the glass low on the door of the store, suggesting someone tried to kick the panel out of the frame.

Not in my backyard

Two 19-year-olds were arrested in South Kingstown last week after police discovered they were . One of the teens admitted to being a URI student and said they had planned on camping in the area for the weekend and surfing on the beach.

Police confiscated over $100 worth of alcoholic beverages, and the two were issued Fourth District Court summonses for possession of alcohol and warned for their illegal campfire, as well as for possession of a small amount of marijuana which was later destroyed.
