Recent activity around town over the weekend.

NK Man Arrested On Charges of Disorderly Conduct

Boyd King, 44, of 60 Ripple Ln. was arrested Thursday night at 9:35 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, after police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found King highly agitated and apparently intoxicated, according to police. King continued to curse loudly at officers and got even more agitated when he found out that someone in the neighborhood had called in the disturbance.

During their search, officers found narcotics in King's son's room. When officers told King he was under arrest and attempted to handcuff him, he folded his arms and said, "I didn't do [expletive]." Police were able to securely handcuff King after taking out a Taser and advising Kin go place his hands behind his back.

Once in the cruiser, King attempted to spit at an officer. His attempt, however, was thwarted by the Plexiglass divider. After police warned King he would be pepper sprayed if he did not cooperate, King continued to yell loudly in the back of the cruiser, calling officers "a bunch of tough guys."

Fire On Albatross Drive Caused By Electric Stove

A fire at 21 Albatross Dr. was spurred by an electric stove being left on. According to the fire marshall, the rear burner of the stove had been left on and ignited some paper plates that were nearby. The burning plates in turn ignited the wooden countertop.

According to police, homeowner Michael Netro claimed that he had not used the stove that morning.

The kitchen sustained significant damage while the living room, kitchen, and upstairs bedrooms saw heavy smoke damage. Total, the damage is estimated to run between $15,000 and $20,000.

No one was home when the fire broke out and there were no injuries.

Narragansett Man Arrested on DUI Charges

Michael Logee, 27, of 4 Sebago Trl. in Narragansett was arrested Friday at 11:01 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence.

North Kingstown police responded to a call put out by the Rhode Island State Police of a possible intoxicated driver who had just entered Route 4 southbound from Route 95 and was speeding and swerving. Police pulled over Logee in his Jeep Grand Cherokee after seeing it pass by other vehicle and partially drive in the breakdown lane, narrowly missing the parked police cruiser on the side of Route 4. According to police, Logee was traveling 80 mph in a 50-mph zone.

After pulling Logee over, police observed that Logee had difficulty removing his license from his wallet and nearly dropped  his registration and proof of insurance. According to police, Logee stated he had been at an event for Frank Caprio in East Greenwich and had "a drink."

During Logee's field sobriety test, he fell out of the instructional stance, started the test before police instructed him to do so, and hop in place while attempting to balance on one foot.

Officers found a bottle of Vicodin and an opened can of Bush Light in Logee's car.

While in custody, Logee attempted to use his cell phone and open programs on the police computer in the processing room, according to police.

Logee is set to appear in 4th District Court on Nov. 9.

Fight in Driveway Leaves Three Women Bloodied, Hair Missing

Linda Martin, 46, and Marie Callen, 50, of 15 Highbank Ave. were both arrested Sunday at 1:30 a.m. and charged with domestic assault and disorderly conduct following a fight between the two women and a third.

Police arrived to the scene to find Callen, Martin, and Martin's daughter featuring facial injuries, including bloodied noses and missing hair. The argument had started in the car ride back to the house. Martin's daughter alleged the argument began after Callen retaliated to a comment made by Martin's daughter while Callen she was attacked without provocation. Once the women arrived at the driveway, they exited the car and Callen struck Dynon in the face and threw her to the ground and then threw Martin to the ground and kicked her in the face.

According to police, Callen appeared to be intoxicated, having difficulty standing straight. All three women were brought to Kent County Hospital to assess their injuries.

Massachusetts Man Arrested on DWI Charges

Matthew Sullivan, 24, of 10 Forest Dr., Mashpee, Mass. Was arrested Saturday at 11:15 p.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated.

Police pulled Sullivan over after clocking him at 57 mph in a 35 mph zone, not using a turn signal, and traveling through red lights. According to police, Sullivan claimed he was in Newport earlier that evening and was seeing if Dave's Marketplace was open after dropping off his girlfriend in Jamestown. Sullivan also told officers he had drank two beers that night at O'Brien's Pub in Newport.

During Sullivan's field sobriety test, he fell out of the instructional stance and used his arms for balance. Sullivan's blood alcohol level was .100 and .094 in two chemical tests.

Sullivan is set to appear in 4th District Court on Nov. 23.
