NKPD Charge 4 with DUI Last Week

Police charged Richard Goodison, 60, of 71 King Phillip Road, Narragansett, with driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test June 5 after he was stopped for swerving on Route 4.

Police said Goodison was seen drifting into the breakdown lane and driving about 30 mph after police activated their overhead lights.

Goodison reportedly failed a field sobriety test at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

Along with the DUI and refusal charges, he was issued traffic court summonses for a lane roadway violation and driving in the breakdown lane.

Police charged David A. Marsocci, 50, of 1132 Ocean Road, Narragansett, with driving under the influence June 7 at around 1:16 a.m.

Police said Marsocci was seen by an officer on patrol as he weaved in his lane on Post Road.

Once stopped, Marsocci reportedly smelled like alcohol and later field a sobriety test.

A blood test was taken at the hospital.

On June 8, police charged Derek G. Dwyer, 25, of 93 Pine River Drive, North Kingstown, with driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test at around 1:40 a.m. after he was seen speeding and drifting in and out of his lane on Post Road.

Police said Dwyer smelled like alcohol, telling police he had four or five beers at Blue in East Greenwich and was on his way home.

He later failed a field a sobriety test and was taken into custody without incident. 

Police charged Adonias Escobar, 34, of 50 Garfield St., Central Falls, with driving under the influence, driving without a license and refusing a chemical test June 6 at around 5:40 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported a man driving a gray Mazda erratically on Boston Neck Road.

Police said one caller reported seeing Escobar cross into oncoming traffic. Another caller said the same, reporting he almost struck several oncoming calls and speeding.

Police caught up with the car a short time later and saw it straddling the double yellow line in fairly heavy traffic on Boston Neck Road.

At first, Escobar did not pull over once police activated their emergency lights, but he eventually stopped and soon police had him in custody for driving under the influence after he smelled like alcohol and failed a field sobriety test.

Escobar reportedly told police he didn’t have a license.

Police found an open beer in the cup holder.
