NKFD Battles Garage Fire Over Weekend

Those in the Wickford area this weekend may have spotted North Kingstown’s firefighters as they knocked down a garage fire at 280 Phillips Street, across from Wickford Middle School.

The fire broke out around 1 p.m. on Sunday after a neighbor alerted the homeowner that his garage, where he restored older model farm equipment, was on fire. According to Fire Chief Fenwick Gardiner, the homeowner was able to save one of the tractors but was unsuccessful in getting the second free.
