NK Police Log: Woman Punches Officer During Arrest

Woman Charged With DUI After Alleged Hit and Run

Jane J. Boulukos, 52, of 21 Pawtucket Terrace, Apt. 2F in West Warwick was arrested Sept. 25 at 8:51 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence.

Boulukos allegedly struck a car while leaving Kingstown Motel. According to reports, she had been drinking at the motel and had been asked to leave. After failing her field sobriety tests, she was brought to the police station for processing and to take a Breathalyzer. Due to her coughing, Boulokos was unable to take the Breathalyzer and later took a blood test at Kent Hospital.

Woman Charged With DUI After Leaving Fundraiser 

Mary Jane Volino, 50, of 45 Freehold Ave. in Cranston was arrested Sept. 25 at 9:24 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to take a chemical test.

Police pulled Volino over after seeing her swerving on Route 4. (According to her arresting officers, it took her 0.6 miles to stop after he put his sirens and lights on.) When the officer approached the window, Volino and her two female passengers began talking over each other as he attempted to gather her documents.

According to the women, they were on their way home from a fundraiser in Narragansett for a girl who was the victim of a car crash.  Volino allegedly told the officer she was “fine” and only had “a couple” of drinks at the event.

After allegedly failing her field sobriety test, Volino was placed under arrest for suspicion of drunken driving. During a search of her car, officer allegedly found a wet spot on her center console that smelled and appeared to be a spilt alcoholic beverage. (Another officer allegedly found an empty plastic cup in the car that smelled of alcohol.) At headquarters, Volino refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

Lincoln Woman Punches Officer 

Barbara Persinova, 33, of 42 Boulevard Ave. in Lincoln was arrested Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police and rescue crews intercepted Persinova after she left SSTAR off Tower Hill Road. According to reports, Persinova had left the facility after being there for only an hour telling police that she “does not need their help.” While officers were helping Persinova into the ambulance, she allegedly turned around and punched an officer chest. As police attempted to place her under arrest for assault, she allegedly began to kick them and called them  “pieces of [expletive]” and other curses.

At the hospital, Persinova allegedly ripped up her court summons when the officer handed it to her.
