Alleged Designated Driver Arrested for DUI

Lyndsy Carlson, 28, of 11 Wayne St. in Narragansett, was arrested March 15 at 12:19 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.

Police pulled Carlson over on Route 4 just south of Westmoreland Lane after responding to a call of an erratic driver. Carlson told police she was at All Stars in Warwick to pick up a friend who drank too much and couldn’t drive home. Carlson also told officers she had not been drinking that night, but then allegedly admitted to drinking two beers after reportedly failing the field sobriety test. While at the scene, Carlson took a portable breath test, which allegedly measured her blood alcohol level at 0.15 percent. The legal limit in Rhode Island is 0.08.

At headquarters, Carlson refused to take a breath test. She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on March 29.

Warwick Man Charged With Violating No Contact Order

David William Steger, 35, of 41 Chiswick Road in Warwick, was arrested March 15 at 10:08 a.m. on charges of violating a no contact order.

Steger had allegedly texted and called a woman who received a no contact order against Steger regarding a domestic violence issue in January.

 

NK Woman Charged With Domestic Assault

Donna Silva, 46, of 61 New Lexington Road, was arrested March 16 at 5:05 p.m. on charges of domestic assault. She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on March 29.

 

Man Arrested For Shoplifting 'Overpriced' DVDs

Craig Champlin, 60, of 84 Rosehill Road in Wakefield, was arrested March 16 at 8:16 p.m. on charges of shoplifting from Walmart.

Employees at monitored Champlin upon his entry to the store due to prior shoplifting incidents with which he was reportedly involved. The employees watched him via camera as he allegedly took two DVDs (“Takers” and “Next Three Days”) out of their packaging and put them in his jacket. A loss prevention officer intercepted Champlin outside the store and brought him back in to wait for police.

According to police, Champlin told police he was sorry for stealing the items, alleging he did it because the DVDs were “overpriced.” The total amount of stolen goods was valued at $53.

He is set to appear in Fourth District Court on March 29.

 

Coventry Woman Arrested For Domestic Assault

Deborah Boynton, 36, of 32 Highland Ave. in Coventry, was arrested March 16 at 11:35 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

Boynton arrived at the to file a complaint regarding her child’s father. Boynton alleged the man had threatened to move to Missouri with their son after Boynton dropped him off at the father’s home. According to Boynton, the two began to argue when Boynton returned to his residence, in which Boynton alleged that the man called her several vulgarities. Boynton also alleged that he “loomed over [her] with hate shooting out of his eyes and a held a pencil at [her] throat” and told her “I should kill you.”

But, according to police, the man told a different story. According to him, Boynton had allegedly punched him in the face and refused to leave. The couple’s son, corroborated his father’s story, according to police.

She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on March 29.

 

NK Man Arrested On Bench Warrant

Donald Boling, 47, of 17 New Lexington Road, was arrested March 17 at 10:16 a.m. on a warrant for his arrest. Boling turned himself in to police and was immediately transported to Fourth District Court.
