NK Police Log: Two Days, Five Alleged Drunks

The following information was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Police Deal With Multiple Intoxicated Subjects

North Kingstown police had a busy two days between April 6 and 7, dealing with not one but five reportedly intoxicated people.

  • Officers responded to Wickham Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle, finding its driver asleep inside the car. According to reports, officers banged on the windows several times before the 49-year-old man awoke. Police reportedly determined the man was intoxicated due to his breath (which smelled of alcohol), his glossy and bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The man was transported to Kent County Hospital due to his “constant sweating and inability to remain awake.”
  • The same day, a West Allentown Road resident called police to report a strange vehicle in her driveway. Police found yet another allegedly intoxicated driver in this vehicle. According to reports, the 36-year-old woman was slumped over the front seat and smelled of alcohol. The woman called her mother to drive her home.
  • Later that night, police received reports of an intoxicated man walking south on Post Road. Police found the man moments later as his step-sister arrived to drive him home. According to police, the 25-year-old man was walking home from e.
  • On April 7 at 1:42 a.m., police arrived at for reports of — you guessed it — an intoxicated person. A tow truck driver from AAA said he arrived in the area to help with a disabled motor vehicle — which he found across the street in the parking lot with a flat tire. The driver, a 19-year-old North Kingstown man, appeared to be “highly intoxicated” and allegedly told police he had struck a curb on the Route 403 overpass while driving home from a friend’s house. The teenager’s father was called to drive him home.
  • And finally, police were called to while a reportedly intoxicated woman was disturbing other patrons at the bar. According to the restaurant’s manager, the 35-year-old woman was “highly emotional and was crying at the bar.” Reports also indicate she began to hug and tried to kiss a woman she did not know. The woman was brought to Kent County Hospital after reportedly passing out in the back of the police cruiser.

NK Man Charged With Obstruction, Driving With Suspended License

Michael Davis Eldridge Jr., 22, of 81 Harrington Road, was arrested April 2 at 9:20 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license, obstructing an officer and on a warrant for his arrest.

Officers pulled Eldridge over off Old Baptist Road after noticing that his car did not have an inspection sticker on the windshield. According to reports, Eldridge told officers his name was Joshua Eldridge. After reportedly giving several incorrect answers about his identity, Eldridge allegedly admitted that Joshua was his brother and that he had lied about his identity. A check of his identification reportedly found that Michael Eldridge had a suspended license and an active warrant for his arrest out of Fourth District Court.

Exeter Woman Hit With DUI After Leaving Seven Moons

Kim Ann Prashaw, 52, of 72 New London Turnpike in Exeter, was arrested April 6 at 9:11 p.m. on charges of drunken driving with a blood alcohol content of .15 or greater.

Prashaw allegedly told officers she had two glasses of wine at earlier that evening. During her field sobriety test, Prashaw continually asked officers if she was going to lose her job at the naval base in Newport, according to reports. Once at the North Kingstown Police Department, Prashaw’s blood alcohol allegedly measured at .170 and .174 in consecutive tests.

She is scheduled for arraignment in Third District Court on April 24.

George Raymond, 19, of 111 Crescent Road in Pawtucket was arrested April 4 at 12:48 p.m. following a warrant for his arrest.

Robert R. Mondor Jr., 42, of Augusta, Maine was arrested April 7 at 11:20 p.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest out of Sixth District Court.
