NK Police Log: Taco Wrappers, 7-Eleven & Shoplifting

Taco Wrapper Allegedly Sparks Domestic Dispute

Amanda Nicole Doyon, 24, of 1257 Tower Hill Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested March 29 at 3 a.m. on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic assault.

Doyon got into an argument with a 31-year-old man after the two returned home from the bar. According to reports, the argument started when the man ate a taco and threw the wrapper on the floor, angering Doyon. The argument escalated as the two began to shove each other, Doyon told police.

When officers arrived, the victim was asleep in the bedroom. Once he woke, he allegedly told officers that the two had been in an argument but nothing physical had occurred. Due to Doyon’s admittance of shoving the man, she was placed under arrest on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

7-Eleven Employee Charged With Stealing Money From Register

Nicholas Mackenzie Lopes, of 72 Gough Ave., Apt. 38 in West Warwick was arrested March 29 at 9:25 a.m. on charges of larceny.

According to reports, Lopes (an employee at 7-Eleven) took money from the store’s register. Lopes allegedly admitted to one of his superiors that he would take money occasionally but didn’t know exactly how much he had stolen.

SK Teen Charged With Shoplifting From Walmart 

Genevieve Cassidy Thomas, 18, of 123 Oakdell Street in Peace Dale was arrested March 29 at 3:15 p.m. on charges of shoplifting from Walmart.

Walmart employees monitored Thomas as she allegedly took several cosmetics items and hid them in her purse. According to reports, Thomas then went through registers and paid for several items in her cart before exiting the store without paying for the cosmetics in her purse. Employees confronted Thomas outside the store. The total amount of stolen merchandise was $74.16. She was issued a no-trespassing order and released with a court summons.
