Pawtucket Woman Charged With Shoplifting

Renee Denise Blais, 45, of 422 Smithfield Ave., Apt. U6 in Pawtucket was arrested March 30 at 1:45 p.m. on charges of shoplifting from Stop & Shop on Frenchtown Road.

According to reports, Blais went through the store and put several items into a green shopping bag. She then allegedly walked past the registers without paying for the items and did not appear to use one of the store’s scanners to scan in any of the items. The total value of the stolen items (which included Twizzlers, Chex Mix and ravioli) was about $30.

Bomb Threat in Bathroom Deemed Not Credible

Police responded to Davisville Middle School on April 2 after an eighth grade student discovered a bomb threat in a bathroom stall. According to reports, the threat read, “I’m gonna bomb the school,” followed by a small smiley face. Police searched other bathroom stalls and the school but found no other threats or suspicious activity. The threat was determined to not be credible.

Woman Charged With Embezzling More than $44,000 From Employer

Angela Marie Carpenzano, 27, of 25B E. Greenwich Ave. in West Warwick was arrested April 3 at 3:22 p.m. on a felony charge of embezzlement.

Carpenzano allegedly stole money and items from her employer, the Army and Air Force Exchange on the Rhode Island National Guard Base in Quonset. After monitoring her actions via surveillance, Carpenzano’s supervisors confronted her about the thefts. At that time, Carpenzano allegedly admitted to taking $33,000 in cash, $4,755.20 in cigarettes, $4,800 in alcohol, $12.50 in pizza and $12.50 in other food items. In total, Carpenzao allegedly embezzled $42,850.20 from the exchange.

Teen Cited With Possession of Alcohol 

Shaylin E. Daley, 18, of 94 Harris Ave. in West Warwick was cited on April 3 at 10:56 p.m. for possessing an alcoholic beverage.

Police received a report that a possibly intoxicated driver had left the area of Yorktown Road after a group of teenagers tried to stop the woman, later identified as Daley, from driving. Officers found Daley and her at McConnell Court a short time later. The car was off and the keys had allegedly been taken by Daley’s who did not want her to drive.

Though Daley and her passenger denied drinking alcohol that night, officers noted that the two smelled of alcohol. In the car, police allegedly found a 1.75-liter bottle of vodka that was open and almost completely empty. According to reports, there was also vomit in the backseat. Both Daley and her passenger told police the vodka did not belong to them. Daley was cited with possession of alcohol by an underaged person.

Kenneth Elijah Gordon, 21, of 582 Devils Foot Rd., Apt. C308 in North Kingstown was arrested April 3 at 6:32 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
