When officers arrived at , they found a group outside in the parking lot. According to police, the bar’s owner told officers he and at least one other person had been assaulted by “a short individual wearing a black shirt.” As officers spoke with the bystanders, said short individual appeared and spoke with officers.

According to reports, the man — identified at Kelly — initially denied any involvement in an assault, though he had blood and scuff marks on his knuckles, and a smear on the back of his head. Police allegedly found a small pocket knife on Kelly, who they reported appeared to be intoxicated.

According to the bar’s owner, Kelly had been “acting up” all night and was asked to leave after he tried to get into fights with bar patrons. Kelly allegedly punched the bar’s bouncer, and pushed him down a flight of stairs in the front of the bar. The man’s face hit the ground, cutting his nose and chipping two teeth.
