NK Man Charged With Driving On Suspended License

Vasilis Ducas, 26, of 6921 Post Road, was arrested March 22 at 11:40 p.m. on charges of driving without a license.

Police pulled Ducas over on Ewing Road after allegedly seeing him swerve in an out of his lane while driving down School Street. A check of his identification showed his license had been suspended. While searching Ducas’ car, police allegedly found a debit card belonging to someone else.

He is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Apr. 5.

SK Woman Charged With Giving Fake Check To Animal Hospital

Sarah Hosseini, 25, 126 Peaked Rock Road in Wakefield, was arrested March 23 at 1:08 a.m. on charges of using fraudulent checks.

On March 30, 2010, Hosseini allegedly wrote a fraudulent check for $365.30 to the . After Hosseini failed to repay the hospital by the December deadline, South Kingstown police took her into custody and handed her over to North Kingstown police. The funds were repaid and Hosseini was released from custody.

She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Apr. 5

Police Searching For Serial Walmart Shoplifter

North Kingstown police are searching for a man suspected of shoplifting $930 worth of PlayStation 3 videogames from . In each case, the suspect removed the games from their packaging and left them in the bathroom. The three incidents in question occurred on Feb. 12, March 16 and March 21.

From surveillance footage, police believe the man to be either white or Hispanic. On two of the incident dates, he entered the store with two “heavyset white females and a white female juvenile.”

NK Man Allegedly Found With Marijuana, Brass Knuckles In Car

Benjamin Francis Polom, 20, of 48 Ashton Ave., was arrested March 23 at 11:03 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a prohibited weapon other than a firearm and driving in possession of controlled substances.

Police pulled Polom over at the intersection of Congdon and Waldron avenues after he allegedly made a left turn without a turn signal. According to police, Polom seemed nervous when police spoke to him. Officers also alleged they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the truck. When police asked Polom if he had anything inside the truck they should know about, Polom allegedly mumbled that he had a marijuana grinder in the glove box and then added he had a small amount of marijuana in his pocket.

Inside the car, officers allegedly found the grinder inside the glove box, two marijuana smoking devices, a 10-inch knife, brass knuckles and $1,059 in cash underneath the driver’s seat.

He is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Apr. 5.

NK Man Charged With Violating No-Contact Order

Nathan Robert Washington, 25, of 99 Gold Smith Ave., Apt. 402 in East Providence, was arrested March 19 at 11 a.m. on charges of violating a no-contact order. He was transported to the A.C.I. after North Kingstown police picked him up at East Providence headquarters.

Arrested On Warrants...

  • Sean Stanton, 43, of 665 Ten Rod Road, Apt. B, was arrested March 20 at 8:32 a.m. on charges of domestic assault, domestic vandalism and disorderly conduct. He is set to appear in Fourth District Court on April 5.
  • Thomas Paul Phillips, 20, of 156 Sachem Road, was arrested on March 21 at 1:30 a.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest. Police found Phillip sitting in a car behind Davisville Elementary School, along with another passenger. According to police, Phillips and his passenger made “furtive movements” under the seats when they saw the officer. When police approached the car, they found Phillips to be shirtless and then discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. The passenger allegedly told officers that the two had been “hanging out” behind the school since 11 p.m.
  • Joseph Wayne Fratus, 36, of 17 Baker St. in West Warwick, was arrested March 22 at 9:08 a.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest out of Third District Court.
