NY Man Charged With Indecent Exposure

Robert Phillip Dimatteo, 26, of 35 Daffodil Lane in Staten Island, New York, was arrested March 8 at 5:53 p.m. on charges of indecent exposure.

Police were investigating an alleged case of when they spoke to him at Camp Fogarty, where he was assigned with the Rhode Island Army National Guard. According to police reports, Dimatteo was evasive during questioning and changed his accounts of where he was when he left the base.

After initially denying the charge, Dimatteo reportedly admitted to exposing himself to a woman in the grocery store parking lot. Dimatteo alleged he purposefully exposed himself to get the attention of police to avoid deployment to Afghanistan later this month.

Dimatteo is set to appear in Fourth District Court on March 22, four days before his expected deployment.

NK Man Sees Felony Charge For Possession Of Marijuana

Brendan Hindley, 41, of 33 Duck Cove Road, Apt. B, was arrested March 8 at 1:54 p.m. on charges of domestic vandalism and disorderly conduct and a felony charge of possession of marijuana.

Police responded to Hindley’s home for a domestic disturbance between Hindley and a woman, during which Hindley broke off a car’s windshield wiper and hid it in his car. After arresting Hindley, police found a marijuana smoking pipe in his bag he retrieved from the woman’s car. A further search of the bag revealed a plastic bag with approximately three grams of marijuana inside.

 

Cranston Man Arrested On Warrant

Walter Robert Hartley Jr., 22, of 30 Harding Ave. in Cranston, was arrested March 9 at 4:03 p.m. on a warrant out of Fourth District Court.

Police responded to Metal Commodities for a report of a man trying to sell bronze gravestone placards. Employees supplied police with the Hartley’s driver’s license after he left prior to the officer’s arrival.

While speaking with Hartley, he told officers that his father works at Quidnesset Baptist Cemetery and the placards were mistakes that the cemetery was going to discard. A check of Hartley’s identification found an active bench warrant for his arrest and took him into custody.

Once at headquarters, police spoke to Hartley’s father who confirmed that the placards were mistakes and were to be discarded.

 

Exeter Woman Charged With Stealing From Multiple NK Residents

Carol Mildred Eldridge, 48, of 66 Scenic Way in Exeter, was arrested March 10 at 11:15 a.m. on two felony charges of larceny.

Eldridge was allegedly caught on camera by a family member of someone who Eldridge had stolen from earlier this month. According to reports, Eldridge had performed household work for the woman, including small repairs and dog walking.

The family members and victim confronted Eldridge, who initially denied the allegation until they showed her the video.

While speaking with police, Eldridge reportedly admitted to stealing from three people in the area and brought a bag of items she had stolen. Eldridge said she had already pawned some of the items.

NK Police Arrest Suspect In Five-Month-Old Shoplifting Case

Anthony Vincent Gaul, 31, of 7 Brentwood Ave. in Warwick, was arrested March 10 at 12:50 p.m. on felony charges of receiving stolen goods.

In October, Gaul had fled from Rite-Aid after allegedly attempting to steal several items, including several weight loss supplements, and leaving an alleged accomplice, Mark C. Kelley, at the scene. A check of Kelley’s record showed he had been arrested the day before for another felony shoplifting charge in Cranston.

 

NK Woman Charged With Domestic Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Charissa Gardner, 32, of 52 Intrepid Drive, Apt. G, was arrested March 12 at 2:29 a.m. on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

Gardner was arrested after allegedly slapping a man repeatedly on the face, head and back. Gardiner was released later that morning on personal recognizance.

 

Eight Mailboxes Destroyed on Pendar Road

Police responded to an alleged case of vandalism on Pendar Road. After assessing the initial complaint and vandalized mailbox, officers realized that it was not an isolated incident as seven other mailboxes and a utility pole were also damaged. According to police reports, it appeared that a truck with a “semi aggressive tread pattern” caused the damage. The incident is still under investigation.

 

Alleged Fight At Kingstown Bowl Ends In Arrest Of NK Man

Gregg Edward Grafton, 20, of 12 Preston Drive, was arrested March 13 at 1:23 a.m. on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and a felony charge of possession of marijuana.

When police arrived at Kingstown Bowl for an alleged disturbance involving Grafton, an officer saw him try to exit the building. When the officer, who knew Grafton from previous encounters, asked him his name Grafton replied “Jared” before admitting his identity, according to reports.

According to police, a woman alleged that Grafton had assaulted her, ripping her shirt and grabbing her by the neck. Police placed Grafton under arrest after speaking with both him and the victim. While searching Grafton, police found a plastic cigarette wrapper with marijuana inside.
