NK Police Log: Man Charged With DUI After Leaving Oktoberfest

Man Hit With DUI After Oktoberfest

Stephen Hallan Studley, 24, of 26 Richard Smith Rd. in Narragansett was arrested Oct. 6 at 9:36 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to  chemical test.

According to reports, Studley’s car struck a telephone pole on Camp Avenue. Studley allegedly told police he was leaving a friend’s house and had been at Oktoberfest in Newport earlier that day. Studley went on to tell officers that he had swerved to avoid a deer in the road and hit the pole.

After allegedly failing his field sobriety test, Studley took a preliminary blood test and registered a .175 blood alcohol content.

Joseph Paul Campagnone, 48, of 1650 Douglas Ave., Apt. 1106 in North Providence was arrested Oct. 6 at 11:30 p.m. on charges of making crank or obscene phone calls.

According to reports, Campagnone was fired from All Amerian Meats and Seafoods on Sept. 28 due to “poor work performance.” His former employer told officers that Campagnone began leaving intimidating voicemails to fellow employees, saying “I’m going to get you back.” On Oct. 1, police warned Campagnone not to call the business again.

Two days later, he allegedly called four more employees and left threatening messages. In one of those messages, Campagnone called the recipient a “target” and made obscene remarks about his wife, calling her a “wrinkled-up [expletive].” To another man, Campagnone said in his voicemail, “Bring the muscle ‘cause I’m bringing the muscle.”

Days later, North Providence Police took Campagnone into custody on an arrest warrant from North Kingstown Police Department.

Marlene Denardi, 36, of 1524 Pleasant St. in Fall River, MA was arrested Oct. 4 at 9:15 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.

Dawn J. Cooper, 45, of 1289 Old Baptist Rd., Apt. B in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license

Richard Michael Morrison, 25, of 135 Hoover St. in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 7 at 12:20 a.m. following a warrant for his arrest.

Jennifer L. Leyden, 48, of 15 Mashie Cir. in Coventry was arrested Oct. 7 at 8:55 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
