Man Allegedly Throws Christmas Tree Branches at Family

Glenn Paul Gadrow, 49, of North Kingstown was arrested Nov. 20 at 6:09 p.m. on charges of domestic vandalism, domestic disorderly conduct, simple assault and a felony charge of domestic simple assault.

A family member allegedly found Gadrow in her apartment. According to reports, he was heavily intoxicated. Gadrow allegedly refused to leave and began breaking off pieces of her artificial Christmas tree and throwing them at her. One branch allegedly hit the woman’s one-year-old daughter in the head, leaving her with a small cut and bump just above her eye.

Officers found Gadrow down the road and arrested him. This is Gadrow’s third domestic assault charge – resulting in the felony charge.

Darren Shanahan, 50, of 93 W. Warwick Ave., Apt. 1 in West Warwick was arrested Nov. 23 at 9:29 p.m. on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Shanahan allegedly stole a wallet from a woman who was eating breakfast next to him at the Breakfast Nook. According to the woman, Shanahan sat down next to her and smelled of alcohol. As she went to leave, she realized her wallet was missing from her purse and called police.

According to records, Shanahan used her credit card at Cory’s Car Wash up the road, then spent $85.59 at Kingstown Liquor Mart and $55.59 at Tollgate Haxton Liquors in Warwick. The owner of Kingstown Liquor Mart recognized Shanahan from the surveillance tape and identified him to officers.

Days later, two people had returned items to the woman that they had found in the Chadsey Road area. During a photo lineup, both the woman and the owner of Kingstown Liquor identified Shanahan as the person who had used her credit card.  Twenty days after the theft, Rhode Island State Police arrested Shanahan and transferred him to the North Kingstown Police Department.

Diana Lynn Tait, 51, of 71 Prospect Hill Rd. in West Warwick was arrested Nov. 21 at 4:15 p.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.
