Narragansett Woman Charged With DUI

Lyndsy J. Carlson, 29, of 11 Wayne Street in Narragansett was arrested June 24 at 2:03 a.m. on charges of drunken driving and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Police pulled Carlson over after seeing her drift in and out of her lane of travel on Essex Road. Carlson allegedly told police, “I know I was driving out of the lane, but I was texting.” Carlson also told police she was extremely tired and was heading to her boyfriend’s house up the road. According to police, she had bloodshot and watery eyes and smelled of alcohol.

When police asked Carlson to submit to a field sobriety test, she allegedly began crying and said, “Yes, but can’t you just follow me to my boyfriend’s house?” She allegedly denied drinking that night but later admitted to having some vodka.

In a preliminary breath test, Carlson’s blood alcohol content allegedly measured at .150 – nearly double the legal limit. At headquarters, Carlson refused to take a Breathalyzer test. She was transferred to the ACI as a probation violator.

Man Allegedly Beat Victim's Face With Rock

David E. Robinson, 54, of 1105 Tower Hill Rd., Apt 11 in North Kingstown was arrested June 24 on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

According to reports, Robinson attacked a man and woman who were drinking in the woods behind Saw Mill Pond Condominiums. The female victim told police she had known the attacker, who she identified as Robinson, for about 20 years.

Robinson allegedly appeared and began to hit the male victim. When the woman attempted to intervene, he allegedly pushed her to the ground and returned to beating the other man. The woman attempted to stop the assault a second time and was allegedly struck in the face by Robinson. According to reports, Robinson began to hit the man in the head with a large rock and stomped on the man’s head several times before walking away and leaving the area on a bicycle.

Robinson was located by police and taken into custody.
