Homegoods Shopper Wanted on Bench Warrant

Danny R. Connolly, 42, of 66 Wood Ave. in Woonsocket was arrested Dec. 19 at 1:28 a.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.

Police found Connolly inside the Subway in Quonset with a full shopping cart of merchandise from Homegoods. According to police, a regular at Burger King had given the man $100 in cash after talking to him and feel bad about his “situation.” When police ran checks on Connolly, they found he had an extensive criminal history and had a bench warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear in court.

Woman Arrested on DUI Charges After Shopping at Walmart 

Lynn Dean Streich, 50, of 25 Spindrift Drive in North Kingstown was arrested. Dec. 20 at 10:10 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Police pulled Streich over for speeding on Quaker Lane and found she had a suspended license. According to reports, seemed confused and lethargic during the traffic stop but initially denied drinking any alcohol that evening. She initially told an officer she was on a prescription medication but later allegedly admitted to drinking.

Streich agreed to a field sobriety test, at which point police discovered that her pants were undone. She told officers that she had been trying clothes on at Walmart and had forgotten to button them.

After she reportedly failed her field sobriety test, Streich took a preliminary breath test and allegedly blew a .283 – more than three times the legal limit. While doing an inventory of her car before it was towed, officers allegedly found several empty containers of wine in the front and back seat of the car.
