NK Man Arrested Following Warrant

Faber Gallagher, 22, of 1294 Tower Hill Rd. was arrested Saturday at 5:19 p.m. Police responding to a bench warrant for Gallagher's arrest out of Sixth District Court found Gallagher at his residence on Tower Hill Road. The warrant was issued after Gallagher failed to appear in court on charges of driving with a suspended license.

He was released from headquarters the same day after paying for the amount of the warrant.

Warwick Woman Allegedly Following Boyfriend Hit With DUI Charge

Dona Bretanha, 54, of 117 Welfare Ave. in Warwick was arrested Sunday at 12:49 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test.

While on patrol, police saw Bretanha driving down Ten Rod Road and clocked her traveling 63 mph in a 35-mph zone. According to reports, Bretanha was pulled over after police saw her swerve into the breakdown lane.

Bretanha told police she was speeding because she had an argument with her boyfriend and was following him. When police informed her that no cars were in front of her, she stated she was ten minutes behind him. According to police, Bretanha's breath smelled of alcohol and she claimed that she drank "four wines" that evening.

After failing the field sobriety test, Bretanha was brought to headquarters where she declined to finish her breathalyzer test.

Bretanha is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Jan. 11.

 

Three Domestic Assaults Over the Weekend

  • John Sherman, 29, of 735 Gilbert Stuart Rd. was arrested Sunday at 2:35 a.m. on charges of domestic violence. The arrest followed a report by a man claiming that Sherman had assaulted both his daughters on his property. Sherman is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Jan. 11.
  • Patricia Way, 58, of 175 Fletcher Rd. was arrested Sunday at 1:18 p.m. on charges of domestic violence. Way is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Jan. 11.
  • Alyssa Nappa, 36, of 1 Tower Hill Rd., Apt. 2 was arrested Sunday at 5:05 p.m. on charges of domestic violence. Nappa was arrested for allegedly assaulting a man after he responded to a text message. Nappa was arraigned at the NK Police Department and released. Police issued a no-contact order between Nappa and the victim.
