NK Police Log: Dead Bat, Domestic Disturbances & More

NK Woman Charged With Shoplifting

Holly Lynne Hinkson, 22, of 620 Devils Foot Rd., Apt. 6 in North Kingstown was arrested May 25 at 1:55 p.m. on charges of shoplifting from Kohl’s.

Hinkson allegedly tried to steal three pairs of shorts by stowing them in her purse.

She is scheduled for arraignment in Third District Court on June 5.

Car Stolen From Driveway

are looking for a stolen 1995 Toyota Camry that was taken from its owner’s driveway on May 24. According to the owner, his son borrowed the car and returned it on May 24, leaving the car unlocked and hiding the key underneath the floor mat so his father could use the car the next morning. The next day, the owner discovered the car was missing.

According to reports, the car is green with several scratches on the driver’s side door with a Fraternal Order of Police emblem located on the rear license plate.

NK Man Charged With Domestic Vandalism Following Argument 

Joseph Whittaker, 27, of 6200 Post Rd., Apt. 28 in North Kingstown was arrested May 26 at 10:13 p.m. on charges of domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct.

Whittaker allegedly became upset after an argument with a woman at his apartment. According to reports, his mother (who lives next door) saw him throw a strainer and kick objects in the kitchen as he began yelling and screaming.

When officers arrived, they found Whittaker sitting on the front porch with a towel around his hand. Inside the apartment, they found broken glass from plates, a broken mirrors, a hole in a wall and blood drops on the bathroom floor and bedroom mattress.

Man Charged After Attempting to Enter Cars 

Jonathan Patrick Toolin, 20, of 79 Union Dr., Apt. D110 in North Kingstown was arrested May 28 at 2:30 a.m. on charges of tampering with a vehicle.

According to reports, Toolin was attempting to enter cars in the area of Saw Mill Drive. Though he was with three other friends at the time, Toolin allegedly told officers he was the only who was trying to enter the cars.

Dead Bat Found in Master Bedroom

A family on Pheasant Run found an unwanted surprise in the master bedroom of their residence on Memorial Day. According to an animal control officers, the couple discovered a dead bat in the bedroom. The bat was transported to the Department of Health’s State Lab in Providence. The family’s two pets (a dog and a cat) are both under quarantine until tests on the bat come back on June 1.

NK Woman Charged With Domestic Assault 

Marilyn Sue Lincoln, 35, of 25 New Lexington Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested May 28 at 9:22 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

According to reports, Lincoln became upset after an argument with a man at her residence and began to throw dining room chairs at him while he was in the front yard. At one point during the argument, Lincoln allegedly threw a wooden barstool at the man.
