NK Police Log: Bus Strikes Turkey, Domestic Assault & More

Narragansett Man Charged In Domestic Assault

Jeffrey Souza, 20, of 109 Conanicus Rd. in Narragansett was arrested April 10 at 9:14 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Souza allegedly struck an 18-year-old woman following an argument. Souza fled the home before police arrived, but officers noted that the victim allegedly had red marks and bruising along both of her arms. Souza told police that the woman had attacked him first and the only physical contact he had with her was when he held her wrists in self-defense. He also allegedly told officers that the woman had scratched him, though police did not see any marks on him.

Exeter Teen Cited For Alcohol Possession 

Nicole L. Lefebvre, 19, of 220 Ridge Drive in Exeter was cited on April 14 at 12:36 a.m. on a violation of possession of an alcohol beverage by an underaged person.

Lefebvre was cited after police found her and a 22-year-old man drinking alcohol in a car by the town beach. Lefebvre allegedly admitted to drinking a bottle of wine, which was located on the passenger side of the truck.

NK Woman Charged With Domestic Assault 

Samantha Ann. Amore, 23, of 45 Fairfield Drive in North Kingstown was arrested April 13 at 7 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Amore allegedly attacked her cousin following an argument about her recent irresponsible behavior. According to the victim, Amore had been out partying the night prior and did come home until 6 or 7 a.m. He found her passed out on the couch with Amore’s daughter and his daughter playing with nail polish.

According to reports, Amore punched him in the face and then attempted to tackle him. A witness claimed that the victim did not hit Amore and only touched her to push her away in self-defense. When police arrived, Amore appeared to be under the influence. She was taken to Kent Hospital for treatment after complaining of dizziness. 

RIPTA Bus Strikes Turkey

On April 10, police responded to the park and ride on Boston Neck Road after a RIPTA bus reportedly struck a turkey. The bus had a shattered windshield on the driver’s side with a feather in it. According to the driver, a flock of turkeys flew across the road in front of the bus.
