Pawtucket Man Allegedly Gives Police Fake Name

Alfred Lefone Rivers, 22, of 982 Main St., Apt 3 in Pawtucket, was arrested Mar. 18 at 2:40 a.m. on warrant for his arrest along with charges of obstruction.

Police responded to Lenox Court after a woman claimed that a man wearing a white doo-rag was knocking on her window trying to get into her home. When police arrived at the scene, they saw the suspect (later identified as Rivers) sitting in a car outside the residence along with two other people. Upon initial contact with police, Rivers reportedly gave the alias of “Jared” and told officers he never had contact with any other police departments.

Officers spoke with the woman who initially called them, who told police Rivers is her daughter’s ex-boyfriend and sometimes uses the alias “Jared Rivers” since he  has a court warrant for his arrest, according to police.

Police confirmed that Rivers was wanted on a warrant from Sixth District Court and placed him under arrest.

NK Man Allegedly Shoves Woman Down Stairs

Russell Chamberlain, 31, of 50 Navy Drive, was arrested Mar. 18 at 10:35 a.m. on charges of domestic assault, disorderly conduct and larceny.

Chamberlain allegedly pushed a woman down a flight of stairs and took $120 she was holding before running out the door to his friend’s apartment across the street. Chamberlain told police that it was his money and that the woman owed it to him. Accoridng to the police report, the two were not in a relationship and were “friends with benefits.”

Following witness statements asserting Chamberlain had hit the woman, police arrested him on charges of domestic violence and larceny.

He is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Mar. 29.

 

'This Test Is Hard'

Dominic Xavier Hazzard, 23, of 25 Dayton Ct. in North Kingstown, was arrested Mar. 19 at 4:13 a.m. on charges of drunken driving.

Police reportedly clocked Hazzard traveling 94 mph in a 45-mph zone on Route 403 and also allegedly saw him make an illegal right turn onto Post Road off the ramp. According to police, Hazzard traveled an additional 500 feet after police initiated their emergency lights before turning into the Homestead parking lot. Hazzard reportedly told officer he “didn’t want to stop in the road.”

While speaking with Hazzard, police reported his speech to be slurred and could smell a “strong odor of alcoholic beverage” coming from his mouth. Hazzard told police he was returning home from Providence and initially alleged he didn’t drink any alcohol. Later, Hazzard would admit to having “a few shots,” according to police.

During his field sobriety test, Hazzard reportedly told police, “This test is hard.” After failing the field sobriety test, Hazzard’s blood alcohol content allegedly measured .200 during a portable breath test at the scene.

At the North Kingstown Police Department, police measured his blood alcohol content again at a reported .190 and .192 in consecutive tests. The legal limit in Rhode Island is 0.08.

Hazzard is set to appear in Fourth District Court on April 5.

 

Driver of Police Cruiser Look-Alike Arrested

Michael Monteiro, 21, of 101 Leading St. in Johnston, was arrested Mar. 19 at 12:53 a.m. on charges of unauthorized display of organizational insignia for accessorizing his car to resemble a police cruiser.

Police pulled Monteiro over on Route 4 and noted that the car sported two-tone paint, a siren speaker in the front grille, strobe lights in front and rear of vehicle, rear light strip in the back window, police radio, numerous antennas, the number “24” on the trunk and other features characteristic of a police cruiser.

According to Monteiro, the car was previously owned by the Seekonk Police Department , though he installed the rear deck lights himself. According to police, Monteiro was also displaying a Fraternal Order of Police “member” emblem, a Providence Police patch emblem and a U.S. Marine Corps emblem on his rear plate. Monteiro reportedly did not have any direct affiliation with any of the organizations.
