NK Man Dies in Collision With Tree

The man swerved off Ten Rod Road and struck a tree head-on.

A North Kingstown man died in a one-car accident on Ten Rod Road Sunday after he swerved off the road attempting to turn left onto Plain Road and struck a tree head-on, according to North Kingstown Police.

Police and Fire Department personnel found Stephen J. Daylor, 53, of 41 Beacon Drive, unresponsive when they arrived at the scene just before 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a release. Rescue personnel transported Daylor to Kent County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Accident reconstruction officers are investigating the accident.
