NK EMT License Suspended

A North Kingstown EMT's license was suspended last week by the state Department of Health following his plea of no contest to a pair of felony assault charges.

Mark S. Alves, an EMT for the town, pleaded no contest to the charges of assault and simple assault on March 19 and was handed a 10-year suspended sentence on April 9. He was also sentenced to 10 years of probation and placed on a year of home confinement.

The health department said the suspension will last indefinitely.

What difference would it make if he was an NK firefighter. He's an individual who did something wrong.....I hope you're not looking to blow this up into some FF issue.

Actual journalism would have involved asking a few questions instead of just regurgitating a press release, but that's what you get from The Patch these days.
