Missing Dad Found Alive

A Barrington father reported missing in North Kingstown has been found by police.

A Barrington father reported missing after experiencing car trouble in North Kingstown yesterday has been found by police.

"He's been found and he's fine," said Police Chief Thomas Mulligan.

According to Mulligan, the NK Harbor Master Capt. Ed Hughes found the missing man – Ted Crane of Barrington – walking along the shore near Quonset in the area of Hope Island around 11:30 a.m. Friday morning. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and to be checked for dehydraton. According to Mulligan, Crane appeared to be in good health (though slightly disheveled).

Family reported Crane (a father of three) missing after experiencing car trouble on Route 403 near School Street while on his way to work at the Regatta building on Post Road in North Kingstown Thursday morning. Crane contacted his wife but then left his cell phone in his car afterward and did not contact his family a second time.

But where was he for a whole 24 hours? Does this not make sense to anyone else?

I'm an so thankful. Thinking of the family, especially Nancy, as they rejoice.

@KC everybody who breaks down tosses their cell aside, skips work and goes for a 24 hour walk on the hottest day of the year all without letting family know.

Maybe he isn't feeling well or is diabetic and when he got stranded in the heat, there was a problem with him in that way...it's not uncommon...

Or you could just thank the Harbor Master that found him, he's probably easier to contact and more appreciative.

Hmm, maybe he didn't want his wife to know where he really was. Haha.
