Midnight Fire Damages Mobile Home

An overnight fire has damaged a mobile home on Krzak Road.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of last night's fire on Krzak Road. Just before midnight, the North Kingstown Fire Department received a call of a fire at 17B Krzak Rd. at a vacant mobile home in the park off Post Road.

Though the fire was knocked down in 15 minutes, crews remained on scene hours after, investigating the incident. According to Deputy Chief Philip Aldrich, the fire began in the kitchen and living room area, which sustained heavy damage. The rest of the home also sustained heavy damage from smoke. Aldrich says he "doubts" the home is salvageable.

The fire marshal is currently investigating the incident. At this time, it is not certain whether arson was the cause of the fire.
