Former NK Man Could Finally Go To Jail For Arson Conviction in 1988

Carleton H. Winsor was convicted of setting fire to an ambulance barn off Tower Hill road on July 4, 1985.

Carleton J. Winsor, of Tallahassee, Fla., has been summed to court in Rhode Island to set a date for to begin his prison sentence, 25 years after he was convicted of setting fire to a barn on Tower Hill Road in North Kingstown, the Providence Journal reported Monday.

Winsor, an NK resident at the time of the arson, seems to have inadvertently caused officials to look into the case after he allegedly was heard bragging about having been convicted of arson but never going to prison during a visit to North Kingstown.

After the visit, someone sent anonymous letters to the North Kingstown Police Department, the state Attorney General and R.I. courts.
