Police Investigate Bomb Threat at Lowe's
Police suspect a worker placed a threatening call to the closing hardware store.
A bomb threat that cleared in North Kingstown for hours may have been made by a disgruntled employee, according to reports.
At around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, the North Kingstown Fire Department received a call from an individual claiming that a friend who was once employed at Lowe's had placed a bomb in the store. North Kingstown fire and police officials evacuated the building before members of the Rhode Island Fire Marshal Bomb Squad arrived.
After crews were unable to find anything suspicious, employees and customers were allowed to return to the building.

According to police, the phone that made the threat to the fire department was a prepaid phone and untraceable.
Police questioned a man whom they thought had been terminated that day. According to reports, the man was still employed by Lowe's and was disgruntled over the recent store closing and overwhelmed by the large volume of customers in the store today due to the closing sale.
