Bank Robber Left Child in Getaway Vehicle

Jenefer Gomes, 34, of 137 Oakcrest Drive in East Providence, was charged with robbing the Columbus Credit Union on Wednesday.

East Providence Police charged Jenefer Gomes, 34, of 137 Oakcrest Drive in East Providence, with robbing the Columbus Credit Union on Wednesday. She was also expected to be charged with child neglect as she left her three-year-old child in the truck she drove to the scene.

She was taken into custody approximately three hours after the bank robbery, according to Captain Richard Frazier. Gomes is currently being held without bail at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institute (ACI).

That poor woman must have been pretty desperate to do something like that as happy, successful, and well-balanced people do not do things like that. I hope that help is available to her for whatever her problem is as "desperate" people do desperate things...
