Letter: Who Are You 'Proud' Of?

Help vote for the NK Spirit Day's "We Are Proud of You" award.

Dear North Kingstownites,

I hope to see you at from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the . Along with a vibrant collection of entertainment, exhibits, donation and recycling opportunities, one of the features of NK Spirit Day is the opportunity to vote for a local group or affiliate that is making a difference in our community. The is in its fourth year, and this year’s nominees are those who are devoted to helping others – including animals – in a variety of ways, and of whom all of us can be truly proud.

Each and every one of these organizations is making life better locally and/or around the world. We invite everyone to attend the Spirit Day event on March 24 to visit the school cafeteria and celebrate these fine organizations and people with your vote. The North Kingstown Town Council will recognize the winner at a town council meeting in late spring or early summer.

Sprit Day attendance is free and the public is cordially invited. It features kid-centered entertainment, community-organization participation with an emphasis on health and the environment as well as opportunities to donate used clothing, give blood, recycle e-waste, shred your confidential documents, mingle with friends and acquaintances, give your kid a pony ride (weather permitting) and have a lot of fun.
