Visiting Hours for McKnight, Former NK Police Lieutenant, on Friday

His funeral will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 8:30am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown.

Frank E. McKnight, a retired North Kingstown Police Lieutenant who died last week after being struck by a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus near the federal court house in Providence, will be remembered by friends and family on Friday.

McKnight, 68, of North Kingstown, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Linda J. (Guillemette) McKnight for twenty-four years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alexander L. and Maria (Rainone) McKnight.

Frank graduated from Cranston West High School in 1964; and received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University in 1992.
He was a RI Army National Guard Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He worked for the Warwick Police Department before joining the North Kingstown Police Department in 1972, where he served for twenty-five years, retiring as a Lieutenant.

After his retirement he began work as a court security officer for the Federal Court House in Providence for thirteen years.

Frank was a member of the East Greenwich Firemen's Club. An avid gardener, he was to begin the URI Master Gardener's program. He was also a pilot and owned his own plane. 

Besides his wife, he leaves his siblings, Maria "Josephine" Rossi of Warwick and Louis A. McKnight of Osterville, MA; his mother-in-law, Claire M. Guillemette of North Kingstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Michael McKnight.

His funeral will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 8:30am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903 or to the American Lab Rescue, Inc., PO Box 215, Willington, CT 06279 will be appreciated.
