Obituary: William N. Ruggiero, 68, Social Worker, Stamp Collector

William N. Ruggiero, 68, passed away at Kent County Hospital in Warwick on July 10, 2014.

He was the son of the late Isabelle and Nick Ruggiero.

He was of North Kingstown and formerly of Westbury Long Island.

He was a graduate of RIC School of Social Work, where he earned a Masters Degree in Social Work. He was also a graduate of State University of New York at Old Westbury earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He was employed as a clinical social worker and addictions counselor in mental health centers and a volunteer Quaker minister at the ACI. He was a member of the Religious Society of Friends and later a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales Church. He was a member of the North Kingstown Senior Stamp Club and the North Kingstown Senior Center, the Universal Ships Cancellation Society, collecting Naval first day covers.

He leaves two sisters Ann M. Eigen of White House, NJ and June M. Farugia of East Greenwich, several cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 14th at 11:00am at St. Francis de Sales Church, School St., North Kingstown. Visitation will be prior to the Mass from 9:15-10:15am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private.
