Obituary: Vincent "Vincenzo" J. Lupino, 83, Chef

Vincent J. "Vincenzo" Lupino, 83, of Pettee Avenue, North Kingstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 12, 2014 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lucille P. (Sabetta) Lupino. Born in Cranston a son of the late Diego and Maria (Bueti) Lupino.

Mr. Lupino was a well-loved chef and baker, and had also enjoyed many diverse jobs ranging from house painter to aircraft painter. He owned Budlong Variety Store ("The Spa") in Cranston from 1972-1978; worked at St. Tarcisius Parish in Framingham, MA; ran the doughboy concession for several years for Rockwell Amusements; delivered mail for the United States Naval Base at Davisville; was a chef at the Blessed Scalabrini Residence for retired priests, and was the cook at St. Rocco Rectory for several years before retiring.

He is survived by his finaceé Marilyn Gould; his son, Vincent D. Lupino; and two sisters, Tina Hawes, and Sadie Gliottone and her husband Joseph. He was the brother of the late Anthony, Domenic, Joseph, Rocco and Richard Lupino and Josephine Melucci. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends, especially Rev. Alfred Almonte and Marcia Zammarelli.

His funeral and visitation is Thursday from 8:30- 10:15 a.m. at "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, Johnston. Entombment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bartholomew Church 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909.
