Ronald B. Wood of Lafayette died suddenly at June 21 at the age of 77. A lifelong North Kingstown resident, Wood was the son of the late Anita Wood Johnson and Mr. Worden. He leaves behind his beloved wife Beverly (Bond) Wood.

He worked in various mills in South County throughout his career, finally retiring in 2000. He was also a retired antiques dealer. Wood was also involved in politics as a longtime Democrat and former member of the North Kingstown Democratic Town Committee.

Wood also designed the North Kingstown Tri-Centennial Coin and was one of only a few men blackballed from the Wickford Club. As for hobbies, Wood enjoyed playing high-low jack and pinochle.

Besides his wife, he leaves behind a daughter (Heather Elida Wood of North Kingstown), an uncle (George Wallace Wood of West Kingstown), an aunt (Hazel Wood of Hope Valley), two sisters-in-law and a number of cousins. HE was the dear friend of the late Gary Grundner.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at 12:30 p.m. at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted, as are flowers. For information and condolences visit www.FaganQuinnFuneralHome.com.
