Obituary: Raymond A. Driscoll, 67

Former state trooper and Richmond police chief Raymond Driscoll has passed away at 67.

Surrounded by his family, Raymond A. Driscoll of North Kingstown passed away at June 24 at South County Hospital. He was 67 years old.

A member of the US Marine Corps, Driscoll dedicated his life to public service and served as a Rhode Island State Police trooper for 25 yeras before retiring with the rank of lieutenant and title of patrol commander. After his retirement, Driscoll went on to serve as police chief in Richmond for 17 years.

He leaves behind is wife Joanne M. (Parente) Driscoll. He was the son of the late Raymond and Rosalie (McCaugher) Driscoll. Originally from Pawtucket, Driscoll was a 1964 graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence.

Aside from his wife, he leaves behind his two sons – Raymond C. Driscoll of Philadelphia and Paul S. Driscoll of Connecticut. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Sloane and Sydney.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29 at 8:45 a.m. at . A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at . Visiting hours are scheduled for Thursday, June 28 from 4 to 8 p.m.
