Obituary: Paula F. Northup, 67

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away on May 21.

Paula F. Northup (Leach), 67, of North Kingstown, formerly of Warwick, passed away peacefully May 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Louis H. Northup.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Frances M. (McGovern) Leach.

Mrs. Northup was a third generation self-employed hairdresser, following a family tradition. She also worked as a secretary for Herb Chambers and Tarbox.

She enjoyed traveling and idealized her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Paul Anthony Carlin of North Kingstown; three step-children, Pamela Beam of CT, Gregory Northup of Exeter and Keith Northup of Coventry; a nephew, Richard Swanson of Warwick; two nieces, Paula O'Neill of Cumberland and Stacy Perrier of MD; and two grandchildren, Wolfgang Carlin and Isabella Rose D'Arezzo. She was the sister of the late Marcia Swanson.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours will be held Friday 4-8 p.m.
