Mildred (Willis) Wotherspoon, 103, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully January 15. She was the wife of the late William Wotherspoon. Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Layton and Edith (Hargraves) Willis.
A member of the First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, she was also a member of the Ready Helpers. She was a member of the American Legion Post 12, Ladies Auxiliary. She leaves two daughters, Sandra Whelan and her husband Alan of Wyoming, R.I., and Letha Froberg and her husband Stephen of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren, Kelly, Kerry, Kristen and Michael Hayward, Stephen E. and Kyle Froberg, Morgan and Thomas Wotherspoon, Paul Chesser and Amy Chesser Brock; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William T. Wotherspoon and Harriet Chesser.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10am in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours are Monday 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, 1135 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown, R.I. 02852, will be appreciated.
