Meredith L. Nelson, 69, of North Kingstown, passed away July 19. She was the devoted companion Wilbert E. Fritz. Born at 39 Norden Ave. in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Mabel I. (Miller) Norden.
Ms. Nelson received a Masters Degree from Rhode Island College and had been an elementary school teacher for the Warwick School Department for her entire teaching career. She was the owner of Organization Plus Road Race Management Services. Meredith was also the former President of the Royal Doulton Collectors Club, New England.
Besides her companion she is survived by a sister, Natalie L. Fisette of Warwick; grandchildren XinLing Ann Fritz of Mechanicsville, Va., and Hanna and Nicholas Fritz of Attleboro, Mass.; loving nieces and nephews Barbara A. Connor of Dalton, Mass., Barbara E. Pierce of North Kingstown, James H. Fisette, Joan M. Nelson, Harvey J. Fisette and Thomas J. Norden of Warwick, Debra L. Lawless of Cranston and Brewster, Mass., Pamela A. Hamilton of Weymouth, Mass., and Linda N. Ienarella of Cranston; and as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Marian F. Connor, William A. Norden, Elsa L. Carey, and Barbara A. Aaronson.
The funeral service takes place Tuesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours are Monday, July 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring her memory in any way you find meaningful.
